The Three Things I Did Before Becoming A Minimalist
The 3 Things I Did Before Starting My Minimalism Journey
Jenny Ong Berdos here.
In this video, I will tell you the 3 things I did before I became a minimalist and a zero-waste advocate.
But first, please subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already and tap the notifications bell so that you’ll get notified whenever I post an awesome video like this one.
The 3 major things that I did before I started my minimalism lifestyle are:
First, I bought an Apple watch series 4.
Second, I had my eyebrows microshaded
And third, I went to the salon, colored my hair and got a Brazilian Blowout.
Here’s a clip of me buyingthe Apple watch:
I bought an Apple Watch so I can record and stop and then record again from a distance while I’m vlogging.
I can just place my phone at a surface, back up a little bit or far away and not touch the phone the entire time that I vlog.
I just tap a button on this gizmo. To me, it’s a very useful tool, not just for vlogging.
Honestly, this watch helps me get fit and stay active the whole day and it lets me take calls and reply to messages without fumbling for my phone inside my bag. Awesome, right?
I purchased this from iCenter at Gaisano mall, Davao city, philippines, ‘cause it’s the only one that has this gold finish in stock.
I went to powermacs at Abreeza and SM lanang and they didn’t have it there.
Here’s a clip of me getting my eyebrows microshaded:
I went to Don Don Yolores at Bonificio street. Don Don’s eyebrow microshading service starts at 5000pesos but he gave me a special price of 3500pesos.
I feel like I had to have this procedure so that there won’t be any need of me using my MAC eyebrow pencil since I’m trying to do the zero-waste practice.
But I’m still planning to use this all up. I’m not just gonna throw this away because I already have it. It’s on this planet already. There’s nothing i can do about it.
Aside from the slight discomfort that I experienced, the only downside to this service is it’s not permanent. So, I think I have to find another way to fill in my brows.
Maybe a chunk of charcoal and shade my brows everyday with charcoal. Will it work?
I will give the answer to that in another video experimenting with charcoal because A. it doesn’t have ingredients that are harmful to me and the environment.
And B. It’s zero waste. And i believe it’s super pigmented and waterproof.
Now lastly, here’s a clip of my trip to the salon:
I went to Sheila Magpale at Bajada and was serviced by Trixie. The results are great. I loved it but then I still haven’t found a soap that cleans and degreases my roots while still maintaining the moisture on my ends.
So that part is still a working progress. I will vlog about my wonder product when and if I discover the wonder product.
I might take a little trip down to Davao City’s eco friendly store at Diversion Road and hopefully find some multipurpose products there that don’t have packaging so that there’s no waste.
I got the Brazilian blowout and the hair color, obviously to look great while vlogging. I wanted to have great hair everyday while I’m still starting my new minimalism lifestyle.
I don’t want to look plain or simple not that there’s anything wrong with plain and simple. But just because I am a minimalist, it doesn’t mean I have to look a certain way.
Most of the minimalists that I found on Youtube look the same. They all look the same. That’s why I want to stand out by owning luxury items like Louis Vuitton or Gucci.
That’s it. Those are the three things that I did. How about you? Let me know the things I should have done before I entered the world of minimalism.
On my next video, I will be sharing how much stuff do I own and how I get rid some of it. Will I donate it? Will I sell it?

Thanks for watching. Have a nice day.
